Spotlight Music Camp begins Monday on the
Farmers Branch campus! We have 125 kids spending the week producing
the musical Acorns to Oaks, and learning what it means to truly have the
gospel of Jesus planted in their hearts. Make plans to attend the
Spotlight Performance! Sunday, July 22nd at 3:00pm at the Farmers
Branch campus. Our key verse for Spotlight is "When you bear a lot of
fruit, it brings glory to my Father. It shows that you are my
disciples." John 15:8. Be in prayer for our kids this week,
that they would make new and lasting friends, and that the full gospel
of Jesus would be sewn into their hearts.
We Need Magazines
One of our small group activities during
Spotlight will require our kids to go through old magazines. If you
have extra magazines laying around the house -- and they are appropriate
for elementary-aged kids to peruse -- please bring them with you to our
weekend services, and leave them at the Kids Branch check-in stations.
And if you have any produce crates, bushel baskets, or other items
found on a farm, we could use them to help decorate the lobby and sets.
We'll be sure to take good care of those items, and return them to you
after Spotlight.
This Week in Kids Branch
Our Downtown Kids are learning about Day 6
of Creation; that God makes good things, and we are one of the most
special things He has made! Remind your kids how God created
everything, and how thankful you are for all the GOOD THINGS God gives
us.
In Uptown, we are learning about loving
each other as Jesus loves us. We are learning the stories of James and
John asking to sit at Jesus' side, and then Jesus washing the disciples
feet. Read John 13 with your kids, and talk to them about what it means
to love other people, and to be a servant.
And don't forget to bring your friends to
the Neighborhood Chill on the Farmers Branch campus tonight from
7pm-9pm for free snow cones!
